I’ve been so busy with various things and university work lately I almost forgot about this blog…
Anyway, today I took a trip down to somerset house to see the skin and bones exhibition. The exhibition is based on the idea of architecture and fashion and how the two have become combined in contemporary design. The exhibit has some really amazing garments, even if your not particulary interested in fashion it’s well worth a look.

While doing some research for university I recently stubbled across David Batchelor’s work. I’m not sure why I didn’t know about him sooner. His pieces are amazing. His most recent works are light-box installations using bits and pieces that he has found on streets of London and huge chandelier style pieces made from old brightly colored bottles. The colors are amazing.

This afternoon I popped to the Natural History Museum. I’m quite fond of the natural history museum but I think more so for its amazing architecture rather than it’s actual content. The building itself is so intricate and detailed and fits it’s purpose so well. The pillars, beams and archways are covered in birds, extinct animals and plantation. It’s really quite something.
